NSS is a fraternal benefit society organized, incorporated and operating for the sole benefit of its members and their beneficiaries as a non-profit corporation. NSS operates under a lodge system, uses a representative form of government and conducts its activities in accordance with its charter, these Bylaws, the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and those states in which NSS is licensed to do business, and the United States of America pertaining to fraternal benefit societies.
