Robert F. Katricak
I have been a life long member of Assembly 160, Lorain Ohio. I am currently Financial Secretary/Treasurer of this Assembly, following in the footsteps of my grandfather and uncle as an Officer. This experience, along with my attendance at American Fraternal Alliance meetings and Ohio and Michigan Fraternal Alliance meetings, has helped me to understand the fraternal side of our Society. I am currently a Past President of the Ohio Fraternal Alliance representing the National Slovak Society. In 2009 I was named the Ohio Fraternal Alliance Fraternalist of the Year.
I have taken a leadership role in our Society. I have served on various committees. I hope that my experience and background has helped our society to grow. I am currently Chairman of the Audit and Compensation Committees. The Audit Committee works closely with our Auditors to ensure we are following correct accounting procedures. The Audit Committee also hires our Auditors to ensure that they are independent of Management. I have also started to perform Internal Audits of the NSS as part of my duties as Chairman of the Audit Committee.
My wife Chris, our four children, our daughter-in-law and our grandchildren along with other family are members of the National Slovak Society.
I am the Internal Auditor of First Federal Savings in Lorain, Ohio. In this position I deal with the many federal regulations over the banking industry. I know the importance of complying with government regulations. This experience helps me to understand the many regulations we face as a Fraternal Insurance Organization.
I received both a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Cleveland State University. I have been licensed as a Certified Public Accountant by the State of Ohio since 1980. This educational and professional background has helped me to understand our business. I am also licensed by the state of Ohio as an Insurance Agent.
